6PM: Moberg Gallery Opening Reception – Works On Paper – Group Show

Opening reception dedicated entirely to artworks created with or on paper. 62 artists will be participating and more than 300 artworks will be exhibited throughout the gallery. Aaron Wilson and Tim Dooley of Midwest Pressed will be creating original screen printed artworks and Asa WentzelFisher of Whole Hog Press will be demonstrating his mastery in lithography during the opening.

7 PM: DSM Art Center – Janey Hooper Trio – Maytag Courtyard

$5 admission; FREE members

Janey Hooper has been playing the piano and singing professionally for more than 30 years.  Born and raised in Des Moines, Hooper has opened headlining acts for Blues artists Robert Cray and Lonnie Brooks; Buckwheat Zydeco; and 60s groups such as The Marvelettes and Lou Christi to name a few.
