Heather Knowles started Des Moines Poetry Slam 18 years ago and this month is returning to feature a book of her collected poems!
A sign up sheet goes out at 6:30 p.m. and the first thirteen poets, read in the 1st round. Five judges score, dropping the high/low. The top readers read in the 2nd round, and 3 lucky readers take home some fine used books!
Bring a friend, make a new friend, grab a seat and a drink. You will hear some great spoken word.
